ISAW Art Contest

Are you between 4-17 years of age? Do you want to express your concern about the wellbeing of the animals around you? And have passion for the arts? Then look no further.

ISAW believes that animal welfare education should be led by young people, for young people. Your artwork is your message to the world. ISAW cares about your message, and through our Animal Welfare Education Program, we invite you to share your creative expression with others.

Here’s how to submit your artwork for the annual ISAW Art Contest.


1. All artwork should be submitted on standard A4 paper (297 x 210 mm) along with a completed entry form. Entries without a completed entry form will be disqualified.

2. The theme is: “A world where animals are treated with respect and kindness.”

3. Students can submit original paintings or drawings using crayons, oil pastels, colored pencils, or paint. NO photocopies, tracing, photographs or computer-generated designs will be accepted.


The deadline for submission is June 30 of each year. All entries must be received by ISAW no later than June 30 to be considered for judging in that year’s competition.


All young people in Indonesia between 4 and 17 years of age are welcome to submit their entries and participate in the competition.

Judging criteria:

Artwork entries will be judged based on their originality, creativity, and overall impression depicting the theme. Winning entries will represent a range of three age categories: 4-7 years, 8-12 years, and 13-17 years.

Prizes and notification:

Each year there will be 3 winners and 3 honorable mentions selected by ISAW from all entries. Winners will be announced on the website and their artwork will be published on in September. All participants will receive a certificate from ISAW. Selected winners will receive a gift and have their artwork featured on ISAW animal welfare education materials.

Note that all submissions become the property of ISAW. They may be scanned for use in ISAW animal welfare education materials as well as for cause-related marketing purposes. If you would like your artwork returned, please provide a self-addressed, stamped envelope along with your entry.
