How do you envision a world where animals are treated with respect and kindness? Imagine what a peaceful place Planet Earth would be!
At ISAW we believe that animal welfare education begins with our imagination as human beings and what we believe harmony between all living creatures is like. And we’d like to hear what you have to say.
Express your ideas through a fiction story, non-fiction prose, poetry, letter, or persuasive essay by participating in ISAW Creative Writing Contest.
- All creative writing entries should be no more than 500 words, may be handwritten or typed on standard A4 paper (297 x 210 mm). A completed entry form must be attached to each submission. Entries longer than 500 words or submitted without a completed entry form will be disqualified.
- The theme is: “A world where animals are treated with respect and kindness.”
- Students can submit original writing compositions of various genres, including essays, stories, poetry, letters, and any other genre they choose.
The deadline for submission is June 30 of each year. All entries must be received by ISAW no later than June 30 to be considered for judging in that year’s competition.
All young people in Indonesia between 6 and 17 years of age are welcome to submit their entries and participate in the competition.
Creative writing entries will be judged based on their originality, creativity, and overall impression depicting the theme. Winning entries will represent a range of three age categories: 6-9 years, 10-13 years, and 14-17 years.
Prizes and notification:
Each year there will be 3 winners and 3 honorable mentions selected by ISAW from all entries. Winners will be announced on the website and their work will be published on www.isaw.or.id in September.
